5 questions for Zete Lundin – MDCL
Tell us about your background!
My name is Zete Lundin and I’m born in São Paulo-Brazil. In Brazil I studied to be a silversmith and enameller. I was very active in my country, and I follow the same rules in Sweden, i.e I participate in exhibitions, competitions and make my own jewellery in my small and cozy studio at Lidingö outside of Stockholm.
What’s the story behind your brand?
In 2004 my and my family moved to Sweden. Shortly thereafter I discovered that it was possible for me to work as a silversmith here as well. I just had to adjust my stile a little bit, to a more “Swedish style”. This is when I developed the collection called “Acorn”. The collection consists of earrings, necklace and bracelet. I love that I can find new models all the time and the Acorn Collections is still growing.
What inspires you to create?
I find my inspiration from nature, and a good part from my dreams as well.
What made you decide to start your own company, and what do you like most about it?
When you are creative, productive and believe in what you do, you want to show it. Opening your own company is almost a natural way to go to reach your objectives. What I like most is when you see a piece of jewellery that is done, it is almost like looking at your own little baby.
What are your plans and dreams for the future?
My plans and dreams are to continue to work as a craftsman and make things with my own hands, jewellery that I create myself. I don’t want to send my sketches to others for production so I concentrate everything to my studio and in my control.
